We learn something new in every game, or as a friend of mine used to say, "We RE-learn something old." Here we'll discuss
our games and try to recap any lessons taught by the best teacher: EXPERIENCE. We'll also acknowledge especially good efforts.
Message from Coach Drew November 20, 2008:
Congratulations to everyone that made the Varsity, JV AND Freshmen teams. Thank you for your commitment
during conditioning and during tryouts. We look forward to a fun and exciting season.
Message from Coach Drew August 2008:
We had a fantastic summer program schedule. Our summer was all about building character, teaching
discipline, responsibility, fundamentals of the game and building team unity.
Three of our top players, up and coming seniors Devin Penix, Marcus Victor and our up and coming junior Avory Evans, traveled
to Los Angeles to participate in the West Coast All-Star Double Pump Camp at Dominguez College to compete against top recruits
in the country. As a team, we played in over 35 games over the course of the summer, starting with one of the biggest and
most respected tournaments in the Bay Area, Slam N Jam, where the competition is outstanding. From there we headed north
to Sacramento for two tournaments. Our program also participated in the Diablo Valley
College Summer league were the competition is always great. We also participated in the Golden Gate Shootout and competed
against top teams in the Marin County area. Our most anticipated tournament was our 5 day trip to Palm
Springs where the team had a blast. We played against some top Southern California teams. We also played
in a great tournament at Skyline College in San Bruno, California competing against some of the best
schools in San Francisco and the Penninsula. We topped off our summer at Antioch High Schools Varsity Jamboree.
As you can see our summer was quite demanding and maybe challenging at times. I'd like to thank Coach Ray, Coach Marv and
our summer league players for their commitment over the summer and our spouses
and parents for your continued support and we look forward to a great upcoming season.
